Borkum awaits final foundations

Thelast load of suction bucket foundations for the Borkum Riffgrund II windfarm have left Szczecin. With this, ST3 Offshore has fulfilledits contract scope for ˜rsted´s German 450MW project.
ST3 was awarded the contract forthe supply of 20 suction bucket jackets in 2016. The works included thefinal assembled jackets, coated and complete with secondary steel, electricalequipment, TP and suction buckets.Load out of the first three jackets beganin February 2018 and took four days. The load process was apparently complicatedwith the preparing of needed documentation taking a few months. It hadto be accepted by the insurer, classification societies and by the client.Setting the constructions in grilleages required precision and was dependanton weather conditions. The 7th load with the last two jackets left Szczecinon the 12th of June. Overall the fastest load out was completed in 1.5days."We are satisfied with the project”sexecution" said Adam Kowalski, vice-president of management boardof ST3 Offshore.

"18 from 20 jackets have been delivered to the client. Four of themhave been set on the Borkum Riffgrund 2 offshore wind farm. The contracthas been realiaed successfully and according to plan agreed with the client. It lets us see the future in optimistic colours" added the vice-president.

"We are able to produce all huge stell structures, but we also takeinto account other contracts, not necessary from offshore core business"stressed Andrzej Czech, the president of the management board of ST3Offshore.
