PrysmianGroup will present its Power Link Cable Solutions, the new enhancedasset management service for critical power links, at the RenewableUK GlobalOffshore Wind 2018 Conference and Exhibition in Manchester, from 19th to20th June.
The Group will also showcase its range of products and services for theoffshore wind power industry.
The Power Link Cable Solutions service is designed to providean asset management of submarine cable operations, from prevention to repair,lowering asset downtime and reducing total cost of asset ownership.
Power Link Cable Solutions is the result of the Group”s submarinecables experience, technologies, deep water installations and maintenancecapabilities, all integrated in a one-stop service provider package.
Prysmian state the service includes complete cloud-based systems providing24/7 wireless monitoring of submarine cable operating conditions,with the support of a team of technicians specialised in reading and interpretingthe data collected.
The system is based on the Group”s proprietary PRY–CAM wirelesstechnology that allows online and Partial Discharge measurements, diagnosisand defect localisation, without having to switch the system off and coveringmany aspects of condition assessment for any electrical equipment from3kV to 600kV.
To better serve the UK market, the Group has set up a marine base strategicallylocated in Middlesbrough, UK, close to offshore assets. Prysmian say thefacilities are equipped with the tools and equipment requiredfor maintenance and repair operations, a dedicated fleet of asemi-mobilised DP2 vessels and shallow water barges, plus spares storageand management and a permanent engineering & offshore installationteam.
Global Offshore Wind 2018 is where Prysmian will display its range of ACand DC power transmission submarine cable systems and solutions designedto meet demanding conditions and high resistance to abrasion, UV radiations,corrosion, bending and torsion stress, for increased efficiency, reliability,safety and cost-effectiveness, as well as high-performance 66kV cable systemsfor inter-array networks and asset monitoring systems and services.
